The workers said they supported the president and began chanting: “GAZ is for you.”
“There is no better place to announce. Yes, I will nominate my candidacy for the post of President of the Russian Federation,” Putin said.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Central Election Commission, Maya Grishina, said that Vladimir Putin, if registered as a candidate, would not need to take leave to conduct the election campaign.
“A candidate filling a government position is not required to go on vacation,” she said.
Let us remember that Putin participated in the presidential elections both as a self-nominated candidate (in 2000 and 2004) and as a candidate from United Russia (in 2012).
As you know, plans to run for president have already been announced by the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, co-founder of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky, opposition politician Alexei Navalny, journalists Ksenia Sobchak and Ekaterina Gordon, businessman Sergei Polonsky, leader of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky, as well as the Commissioner for Rights entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Growth Party Boris Titov.
