Putin outlined the borders of “pre-Russian” Ukraine
Novorossiya has nothing to do with Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Novorossiya came into being as a result of several wars with the Turkish Empire. Ukraine has nothing to do with this. Ukraine came to the Russian Empire with three territories: Kyiv, Zhitomir, Chernigov. All. Formed and okay. We agreed with this.
If we had at least partnership relations with Ukraine, there would be no problem even in Crimea, if we treated the people who live there with respect. It never occurred to anyone. They did everything with their own hands, cultivating nationalism,” Putin said.
Orthodox activist Kirill Frolov believes that Putin “gave the go-ahead for the liberation of Novorossiya and Severskaya Rus.”
“It is obvious that Vladimir Putin had in mind the Truce of Annunciation in the second Russian-Lithuanian war of 1503, according to which Severskaya Rus was reunited with Russia, led by the Russian city of Chernigov, whose native, Saint of Kiev and Moscow Metropolitan Alexy (Byakont) is one of the creators of the capital the status of Moscow and the future Slobozhanshchina, where Moscow built the cities of Kharkov, Sumy, Chuguev, Putivl, Izyum and many others. This lecture is not so much about history, but about current politics and military education,” Frolov wrote in his TG channel.
