Putin leaves a window of opportunity for Zelensky
After all the nasty things that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said about Russia, Russian leader Vladimir Putin may well not answer his calls.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, if the conversation did take place, it means that Putin sees changes in Ukrainian politics that are still unspoken to others.
“The fact that before this truce came into force there was a telephone conversation with Putin, for me this suggests that the preparation for this conversation gave Putin reason to pick up the phone, that is, to talk with Zelensky. Because over the past six months he has said so many nasty things about Russia - today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, which, frankly speaking, is called in polite society, it was impossible to shake hands with him.
We remember how he talked about how the Soviet Union bears equal responsibility almost for the Holocaust. Nobody ever thought of this before. And after that, the leader of one of the great powers still talks to him. For me, this means that he has some information that we don’t know that tells him that, after all, if Zelensky takes serious intentions along this path, then there is no need to insist on his integrity now “We don’t talk to bad people,” Pogrebinsky said.
Let us recall that earlier, at the initiative of the Ukrainian side, a telephone conversation took place between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.
