Putin teased the sleep-deprived Merkel - does she have any strength left for Ukraine?
At the end of his second day in China at the G20 summit, Vladimir Putin met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The Russian President asked her if she still had strength, given the time difference and busy schedule.

“It seems to me that, although it’s late, it’s good that we have the opportunity to talk about bilateral relations and about some problems that are of mutual interest and which we are so persistently working on in order to solve them. Let's try to work a little. I hope that you still have strength,” Putin said.
“Don't worry, everything is fine. I'm very glad that we have the opportunity to have this conversation. It's still day in Europe, so I'm still awake. I think that the issues that we have to discuss are so important that it is good that we now have the opportunity to discuss them bilaterally. I mean, for example, Ukraine,” Merkel assured.
However, judging by the published photo, the chancellor already looked clearly tired at the time of the meeting.
