“Thanks to the support of President Vladimir Putin, the plant received an order for 2,7 billion rubles for the construction of a floating crane. There should soon be a decision on the second tap for almost the same amount. To fulfill these orders, another 500–600 people will need to be hired. This is what the company's management does. I’m following the process,” Ovsyannikov said.
Back in February, the government of Sevastopol reported that Sevmorzavod, which is a branch of JSC CS Zvezdochka and part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, received an order for the construction of a 400-ton floating crane for the Admiralty Shipyards (St. Petersburg). The company must complete the order by December 31, 2019.
OJSC Sevastopol Marine Plant previously belonged to Petro Poroshenko and was taken into state ownership by the government of Sevastopol in March 2015. This is one of the largest ship repair and shipbuilding enterprises located in the Azov-Black Sea region.
