As Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin said on Twitter, today's meeting of the presidents confirmed the fact that Russia will continue to vigorously support the “honest cause of Belgrade.”

The ambassador also noted that the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina “was in a coma” for six months due to the provocative actions of the Kosovo Albanians - the introduction of a 100 percent tax, the decision to form an army that is in conflict with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, attempts to usurp property of the Serbs. “Traces of Kosovo’s sponsors can be seen everywhere,” Chepurin wrote.

Let us note that a meeting on this issue between the heads of the countries of the Balkan region and the leaders of France and Germany has been scheduled for April 29 in Berlin.

According to the plan, which will be presented at a meeting with the participation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, there is no provision for dividing the territory of Kosovo. However, these are still only assumptions.

Against the backdrop of today's events, an interesting fact is the interview for Voice of America with former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Brian Yee about the situation in Kosovo and the upcoming meeting in Berlin, about which he is skeptical. He said that the idea of dividing territory along ethnic lines is not good from the point of view of pragmatism, politics and diplomacy.

Also, Serbian Politika writes, at the “Solving the Unsolvable in the Western Balkans” summit in Washington, this official noted that Serbia must clearly determine for itself whether it is going to the EU or to Russia. Because it is impossible to want to be a member of two organizations at the same time.

“This is not to say that there is no possibility for this from a legal point of view, but it is not effective. There is nothing wrong with Serbia's cooperation with Russia, there is no reason to interrupt them, but if Serbia wants to join the European Union, it must say this clearly in order to avoid tension - foreign policy then must be consistent with the EU, and not with some other country , an alternative strategic partner,” said Yi.
