Putin spoke with a veteran from Donetsk who came to the parade in Moscow
The military parade held today in Moscow in honor of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War was attended by war veteran from Donetsk Alexey Kuzhilny.
During the event, the front-line soldier stood on the podium on Red Square along with other comrades in arms when Russian President Vladimir Putin approached him and personally greeted him.
Alexey Nikolaevich Kuzhilny fought at the front from the age of sixteen. During the war, he managed to take part in the defense of Rostov-on-Don, as well as in hostilities in Western Ukraine and the Caucasus, writes the Donbass Today agency.
On June 24, 1945, he, along with other Red Army soldiers, took part in the first Victory Parade, marching in front of the Kremlin and throwing the banners of Nazi Germany at the foot of the mausoleum.
Currently, Alexey Kuzhilny lives in the DPR in the front-line city of Yasinovataya.
