“This, of course, is a matter exclusively for the deputy corps, but Dmitry Anatolyevich and I will ask (at least United Russia) to support the candidacy of Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin. I wanted to inform you about this, if you, as faction leaders, consider it possible to respond to this in a consolidated manner,” the Kremlin’s official website quotes Putin’s words at a meeting with the leaders of the Duma factions.
Let us recall that on September 22, Putin proposed to the Speaker of the State Duma of the previous convocation, Sergei Naryshkin, to head the Foreign Intelligence Service.
“He agreed and therefore cannot and will not continue his work as a deputy of the State Duma, as the speaker of parliament,” Putin told deputies.
In August, Vladimir Putin dismissed Sergei Ivanov from the post of head of the presidential administration and appointed Anton Vaino to this position.
