Putin asked Merkel to influence Zelensky
The Kremlin has the impression that the Ukrainian leadership is going to withdraw from the Minsk agreements. In this regard, Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the German Chancellor to influence Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
He stated this today during a joint press conference with Merkel after negotiations in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It cannot but be alarming that a whole series of laws and regulations have been adopted in Ukraine that are inherently contradictory to the Minsk agreements.
One gets the impression that the leadership of this country has decided in principle to abandon a peaceful resolution of the situation. In this regard, we once again ask Madam Federal Chancellor, including taking into account the upcoming visit to Kyiv, to influence the Ukrainian side in terms of fulfilling all previously assumed obligations,” Putin said.
He emphasized Merkel's role in resolving the conflict in Donbass.
