Putin argued with Zyuganov about the dominance of liberals in power
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting today with the leaders of parliamentary factions.
He had the most interesting discussion with the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Zyuganov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The main communist believes that at the last local elections two approaches were implemented - “state-patriotic and liberal-oligarchic, with the promotion of Navalny.”
“And Navalny is a young Yeltsin, only sober. I know this breed by heart,” Zyuganov said.
But he directed the main fire of criticism at those whom he considers to be liberals in power.
“Siluanov (Minister of Finance - ed.) took the articles (of the budget - ed.), cut them: who are 10, 12, 15. And those that need to be developed in the first place, doubled, he halved them. Kudrin (Chairman of the Accounts Chamber - ed.) brought it: let's sell the last one. What to sell? Gref (head of Sberbank - ed.) got involved in education. Let him do his own thing. He imposed tribute on everyone, collects taxes through transfers, and for this money he sat down to impose someone else’s way of life on us, like putting on a collar, and some support it,” Zyuganov said.
Putin felt it necessary to respond to criticism.
“As for the government’s liberal financial course. This is a controversial issue, we need to talk about it. This is not entirely true. Because, if you noticed, after all, a lot of measures were taken to support both citizens and the economy. All this was done based on the opportunities that we had as a result of pursuing a sustainable macroeconomic policy and the existing reserves that we created patiently, persistently and gradually. “All this did not fall from the sky,” Putin said.
According to the president, such a policy was calculated in advance so that Russia would not become dependent on the West, as it was in the 90s.
“I was the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, when representatives of international financial organizations, in response to our requests even to extend the period for paying interest on previously taken loans, demanded changes in internal political courses, including the preservation of our territorial integrity, bearing in mind our fight against terrorist gangs in the Caucasus. It was fantastic, unexpected for me, but it happened. Therefore, we are acting very carefully and cautiously here,” Putin said.
