Putin put to shame the forecasts of the West and Ukraine
Today's speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Victory Day parade showed that Moscow will continue to support Donbass and complete the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.

Political scientist Sergei Markov also notes that Putin disappointed Ukrainian and Western forecasters who announced a declaration of war and mobilization in Russia.

Firstly, he does not want to spoil the holiday in any way, and secondly, he does not like to do what is expected of him, but prefers unexpected decisions. In terms of the speech itself, there are several main points. A lot of attention was paid to a special military operation; it was clearly stated that it was inevitable, since all previous developments had shown that the West was absolutely unwilling to respect Russia’s security interests. Political scientist Armen Gasparyan has a similar opinion.
“For Russian citizens, there was nothing unusual in the president’s words. At least that's what I expected, and that's what I heard. It was the accents, clarity of wording and the end of the speech that were very strong. Western media, at the suggestion of the Ukrainian media, expected total mobilization, a declaration of war, and God knows what else. But they need to listen less to Arestovich, Feigin, Podolyak and other strange people. But now they have a new “case” - they now say that there is mobilization, it’s just secret. Well, I don’t know what or how to talk to these bastards.”
