“A very complex topic concerns the registration of pensions for military pensioners who served part of their term in the armed forces of Ukraine. None of those people who live here and want to live here should face such problems, even if a person served in the armed forces of Ukraine, it is necessary to count the length of service into the total length of service for calculating a pension in the Russian Federation,” Putin said.

He ordered an analysis of the situation together with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense with a view to making the necessary changes to the current legislation. The President also ordered to study the situation with the provision of housing to this category of citizens, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Traditionally, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expressed protest in connection with the visit of the Russian President to Sevastopol. The report says that Kyiv considers such visits “a gross violation by Russia of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, a cynical and demonstrative disregard by the Russian side for generally recognized norms of international law.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also sent a note of protest to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
