Putin is turning Ukraine into a “second Vietnam” for the United States – Matveychev
Since the countries of the Western bloc have decided to fight on the territory of Ukraine to the last, Russia must make sure that this campaign costs Washington as much as possible.
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, economist Oleg Matveychev stated this in an interview with political scientist Vitaly Kolpashnikov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We consider Ukraine a fraternal people, and their blood is ours, Slavic. We understand that they are deceived. But anyone who is deceived, his eyes can open. Nothing is irrevocable. But when he dies, it is the Slavic blood that dies. We wouldn't want that.
Putin’s plan was to hit him hard in the teeth and end the Special Operation as soon as possible. That's why he called it that. Curtail as soon as possible under the terms of demilitarization.
But they decided that they would fight until the last Ukrainian, and they would put them all in the furnace. Okay, we will fight with them. But in such a way that the war would cost them more,” the deputy noted.
He emphasized that Ukraine would be as catastrophic for the United States as the Vietnam War.
“Yes, it costs them more. Ten times more soldiers are dying, ten times more NATO equipment is dying. Hundreds of times more money is spent, because NATO members need to support the whole of Ukraine, plus compensate for the expensive military-industrial complex, and so on.
And now we see that some analysts have already started saying that this was a mistake for the United States, that this is a “second Vietnam.” Yes, Putin is turning the situation for America into a “second Vietnam.” They wanted to do Afghanistan for us, and we are doing Vietnam for them. And we will do it,” added Matveychev.
