Putin ordered the army and navy to be constantly ready to deter aggression
By the end of 2020, the level of equipment of the Russian army and navy with modern weapons and equipment should be at least 70 percent - this figure must be maintained continuously from now on.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the board of the Russian Ministry of Defense, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This level - I mean 70 percent of new equipment in the troops - is important to achieve and stably maintain in the future. I repeat: our task is not to rearm the army and navy once and forget about it for decades. They must always be equipped with the latest technology and technology.
Just now I was at the exhibition, some reported with pride: such and such equipment is not inferior to the best world models. It must be - how many times have I already told the representatives too - it must always be better, if we want to win, the technology must be better than world standards. This is not a game of chess, where we can sometimes be satisfied with a draw. This is the military organization of the state. The technology must be better,” Putin said.
He drew attention to the importance of re-equipping nuclear forces in order to “ensure guaranteed deterrence of aggression against Russia and our allies.”
