Putin: the USA and Ukraine are fighting against Nord Stream 2
Russian pipeline systems connected to the main consumers in Europe have no competitors in terms of the price of blue fuel, so the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will become a pan-European project.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

“We know that there is a struggle with him, dictated primarily by considerations of competition. Our American partners want to supply liquefied gas to Europe. Geopolitical issues are also involved here. In particular, transit through Ukraine. I want to repeat that we are not going to close transit through Ukraine if it is economically feasible. We are ready for negotiations with our Ukrainian partners,” Putin said.
He believes Europe will buy Russian gas if it wants to remain competitive.
“Production and delivery over such distances and in such volumes will allow us to reduce gas prices by at least 30% compared to liquefied gas, which can be supplied from the United States. In Europe, terminals have been set up to receive LNG, but they are only 25% loaded,” Putin said.
