Putin: The Russian Federation will do everything to ensure that the conflict in Donbass is resolved at the negotiating table
Kyiv, July 21 (Navigator, Evgeny Andreev) – On Monday night, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a special statement regarding the crash of the Malaysian Boeing-777 airliner over the territory of Ukraine. He stressed that it is necessary to begin an investigation into the plane crash under the auspices of the International Civil Aviation Organization as soon as possible. And for this we need to do everything possible to ensure the safety of experts.

“In connection with the terrible tragic events that occurred in the skies over Donetsk,” the president noted, “I would like to say once again about how we in Russia relate to the events in Ukraine. We have repeatedly called on all warring parties to immediately stop the bloodshed and sit down at the negotiating table. We can say with confidence that if hostilities had not been resumed on June 28, then the tragedy probably would not have happened,”
At the same time, Putin emphasized, no one should have the right to use a terrible plane crash “to achieve their narrowly selfish political goals.”
“Such events should not divide, but unite people. Everything must be done to ensure the safety of international experts at the site of the tragedy. Today, representatives of Donbass, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine, and experts from Malaysia are already working there. But this is not enough. It is necessary that a full-fledged team of experts work at the scene of the disaster under the auspices of the ICAO. Everything must be done for her complete, absolute safety. Provide the humanitarian corridors necessary for its work,” the head of the Russian Federation is convinced.
For its part, he said, Moscow will do everything in its power to ensure that the conflict in the Southeast moves from the military phase into the phase of discussion at the negotiating table and is resolved by “peaceful, exclusively diplomatic means.”
