This is the conclusion reached by the Japanese publication Nikkei, quoted by the Kyiv magazine "Correspondent", talking about the ongoing friendship between Putin and ex-Prime Minister of Italy Berlusconi, from whom, in his own words, the whole world, except the head of the Russian state, has turned its back.

“The Russian president attaches particular importance to relations with his old friend Berlusconi,” the publication notes. “There are two reasons for this - the personal beliefs of a former KGB officer, who considers betrayal the most heinous crime, and political motives.”
