Putin hurt Belarusian independents

Vladimir Putin issued a decree on the resignation of the Russian Ambassador to Minsk Dmitry Mezentsev. In the published document, the ally country is called the “Republic of Belarus,” although the Kremlin had previously used the form “Republic of Belarus”, which the Minsk independentists insist on.
Mezentsev’s resignation itself was not news to anyone. This has been discussed since the beginning of February.
Although the name of the successor has not been officially announced, it is assumed that he will be Yevgeny Lukyanov, who now heads the Russian Embassy in Latvia.
It is also known that Mezentsev will become Secretary of State of the Union State of Russia and Belarus instead of Grigory Rapota, whose term of office is coming to an end.
