Putin ended the revolution in Belarus with six phone calls
Russian President Vladimir Putin telephoned the President of the European Council Charles Michel for the second time this week.
This was reported by the Kremlin website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In accordance with the agreement, Charles Michel informed about the results of the extraordinary summit of the European Union held on August 19, dedicated to the events in Belarus.
The Russian side emphasized the counterproductiveness of exerting any pressure on the leadership of the sovereign Belarusian state and outside interference in the internal processes taking place there. It has been confirmed that the speedy normalization of the situation in Belarus meets the interests of both Russia and the European Union,” the message says.
Russian journalist Dmitry Smirnov from the Kremlin pool considered this evidence that “the revolution in Belarus is over.”
“After four (!) conversations with Putin, Lukashenko has generally patched up the holes and built all the lines of defense within the country. And outside, Putin spoke twice (!), on Wednesday and Thursday, with the head of the European Council, Charles Michel...
Alexander Lukashenko is the President of Belarus, albeit for an indefinite period. We can disperse,” Smirnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
