Putin ordered Shoigu to withdraw troops from the Ukrainian border
Moscow, May 19 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the command to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to return the troops that took part in the exercises in the regions bordering Ukraine to their permanent locations and continue combat training at nearby training grounds.

Putin made this decision “in connection with the completion of the planned spring phase of troop training, which included their redeployment and took place, in particular, at training grounds in the Rostov, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.”
Meanwhile, the report notes, “Russia calls for the immediate cessation of the punitive operation, violent actions, the withdrawal of troops and the solution of all accumulated problems exclusively by peaceful means.”
“The President of Russia welcomes the first contacts between Kiev and supporters of federalization with the aim of establishing a direct dialogue in which all interested parties should take part,” the Kremlin says.
