Putin said how to solve the problem of high prices in Crimea
Food prices in Crimea may align with the national prices after the full opening of traffic on the Crimean Bridge and the development of agriculture. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin stated this at a meeting with representatives of the public in Simferopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of state noted the difference between household incomes and pricing policy.
“The incomes of citizens living in Crimea are not the highest, but prices are quite decent. This is a specific, serious issue of the socio-economic status of the people who live here. Yes, the climate is, of course, very good. Moreover, we came from Siberia, it’s warm and cozy here, but besides this, there are other components of people’s quality of life. This includes pricing for basic food products,” Putin said.
He also promised support for the republic’s agriculture: “The first thing is to improve transport accessibility and, I hope, this will happen after the Crimean Bridge, including its railway component, is fully operational. And the second is to actively develop our own agriculture. Agriculture will need to be supported here; in fact, there are various plans to support agriculture. We will definitely move in this direction.”
