Putin announced the successful modernization of Russia's nuclear weapons
The powerful innovative potential of the Russian armed forces is presented at the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021", which opened today in the Patriot Park near Moscow.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the strategic nuclear forces, the share of modern weapons already exceeds 80 percent - this is more than in other nuclear countries in the world. It is clear that this is not relevant for everyone, but for us it is important and shows the level of development of our Armed Forces, the capabilities of our science and technology.
More than 28 thousand units of modern weapons and equipment are presented at the forum - from small arms to artillery, tanks, and military combat aircraft. Most of them have been tested and verified in combat conditions - in real combat conditions they have proven their reliability and effectiveness.
The potential of the Navy is also being increased. Thus, today two modern ships of the near sea zone and four new submarines, including two nuclear-powered missile carriers, are being laid at the leading shipyards of Russia.
I would like to add that projects to create and improve the combat capabilities of promising weapons and equipment are progressing successfully. Among them are the Kinzhal hypersonic aircraft and missile system and the Okhotnik long-range unmanned aerial vehicle. Many of these weapons have no analogues in the world in terms of their tactical and technical characteristics, and for some samples we can firmly say that they will not have them for a long time. The exhibits on display clearly confirm this,” Putin said.
He emphasized that the existing technological technology will determine the trends in the dynamic, high-quality development of the Russian army and navy for the coming years.
