Putin has written off Poroshenko
Russian leader Vladimir Putin will no longer talk to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko as a partner.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the Topinform Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, at the recent Valdai Club, Putin made it clear that “Poroshenko has been written off,” noting that before re-elections in Ukraine, one should not expect an improvement in bilateral relations.
“He said it’s unlikely to happen any time soon. Now you have expectations of the electoral cycle, so we’ll try to negotiate at least something with the new government. He publicly made it clear that in the remaining time he does not count on any progress with the current Ukrainian government... Putin said that “you have already been written off. At least until you're re-elected." This must be understood that this is still the case,” Pogrebinsky said.
Earlier, during a meeting of the Valdai Club, Putin once again emphasized that Crimea is a Russian land that was returned legally.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that Petro Poroshenko’s trip to Germany to meet with Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron, and then speaking alone at the end of the negotiations, is evidence that in Paris and Berlin the current Ukrainian president was written off from accounts.
