Putin asked why the website selling train tickets to Crimea collapsed
The website for selling train tickets to Crimea could not withstand the high load and temporarily stopped working due to high demand among those wishing to come to the peninsula for the first time across the bridge across the Kerch Strait.
Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov announced this during his report to President Vladimir Putin.
“We have opened sales of train tickets to Crimea. We are ready. On the 24th - from Moscow, on the 23rd - from St. Petersburg the first passenger trains with new cars and a new operator depart. And, you know, Vladimir Vladimirovich, we have discovered a colossal demand, somewhat unexpected for us. We sold 10 thousand tickets in the first days, in two days. We even had some problems with the carrier’s website, there were so many requests,” the official said.
"Overload?" - Putin clarified.
“Overload, yes. Our computing power was not calculated,” Akimov noted.
