“This is a sovereign decision of the United States to whom to actually sell or supply weapons, and of the country that is the recipient of this assistance. We won't be able to influence this in any way. But there are certain international rules and approaches. The supply of weapons to the conflict zone does not benefit pacification, but only aggravates the situation,” Putin said.

“There is one more point that is worth paying attention to for those who harbor such ideas. It lies in the fact that the proclaimed republics have a lot of weapons captured from the opposing side: nationalist battalions and so on. If American weapons enter the conflict zone, it is difficult to say how the proclaimed republics will react. They can send the weapons they have to other conflict zones that are sensitive to those who create problems for them,” Putin said.
