He stated this on Thursday during a direct line, answering a question from Crimea about queues of cars on both sides of the Kerch Strait.
“About the ferry crossing. There really are a lot of problems there. To tell the truth, I honestly didn’t know what a cluster was. Today there is so much waiting in the transport queue, right?” asked the head of state.
“More than two thousand cars,” the Crimean confirmed.
“Hm-yes. We currently have two ferries operating there; in my opinion, five should operate in the near future, and in general there are plans to purchase additional ferries, and ten ferries should operate on this line. Several of them are quite large. I will definitely talk with the Ministry of Transport and the leadership of Crimea about the situation that is developing. Today, a significant part of the powers has been transferred, by the way, to the Crimean authorities. But we need to help them, and not just pass on responsibility, expecting some kind of collapse. We will definitely work on this,” Vladimir Putin replied.
