President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin broke the record for the number of Russians who voted for him.
More than 55 million citizens cast their votes for the current leader, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
Thus, based on the results of counting 99% of the ballots, the number of voters who supported Putin amounted to 55 people, which became not only his personal record, but also the largest number of votes cast for a presidential candidate in the entire history of elections in the Russian Federation.
Previously, this record belonged to the current Prime Minister of the country Dmitry Medvedev. In 2008, he was elected president with 52 votes
