The head of state announced this during a meeting with representatives of the Duma factions in Yalta, the press service of the United Russia party reports.

According to the president, the program will not be redundant and costly. Vladimir Putin also said that the Russian army will be equipped with modern offensive and defensive weapons that other armies in the world do not have.

“What Putin said is more of a political point of view, and that’s right. We will put our equipment there, but we will not increase its number. We will change it qualitatively. New ships and air defense will appear,” commented the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Franz Klintsevich, on the president’s speech.
