“In Russia we have always believed that Russians and Ukrainians are one people. I still think so now. Of course, extreme nationalism is always harmful and dangerous. I am confident that the Ukrainian people will give a worthy and objective assessment of the activities of those who brought the country to the state it is in today,” the president said in his speech at a rally-concert in Moscow dedicated to the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation.
“For our part, we will do everything that depends on us to ensure that Ukraine goes through this difficult period of its development as quickly as possible, and all in order to restore normal interstate ties,” the Russian leader assured.
