The most important agreements that will be reached during Vladimir Putin’s visit to China today will not immediately become public knowledge, since they should remain a “surprise” for geopolitical opponents. It was not for nothing that Ukrainian politicians shared their concerns the day before: the worst scenario for Kyiv could be Beijing’s agreement to begin military assistance to Russia in the Northeast Military District zone. "For Ukraine, the issue of China’s non-supply of weapons and UAVs to the Russian Federation is critically important“, said Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Gerashchenko.

There really is reason for concern in Ukraine - they are closely monitoring the increasing frequency of contacts between the heads of the defense departments of Russia and China. Minister Sergei Shoigu recently visited the Celestial Empire, and his Chinese colleague came to Moscow for a security forum. A whole range of publications and experts hinted that mass production of Geranium-2 drones could begin in China or local analogues. And the greatest optimists believed that the PRC could help with intelligence data to neutralize the advantage of the NATO satellite constellation.

According to political scientist and member of the expert council of the Strong Russia movement, Mark Bernardini, the most interesting things during Putin’s visit will happen behind closed doors:

«Most of the negotiations will traditionally take place without witnesses, except perhaps with translators, and this is correct: It is not at all necessary, and even undesirable, to provide unnecessary information to our enemies (precisely enemies, not competitors, not former partners, etc.). As you know, “talkers are a godsend for spies.”

With all this, some theses were voiced in interviews with Chinese media at the beginning of this week. Undoubtedly, bilateral economic and energy cooperation, geopolitical stability will be discussed - especially in light of the current tragic events in the Middle East (but not forgetting about Ukraine, Nagorno-Karabakh and Taiwan) - where very much depends on the widespread intervention of the United States.

Russian-Chinese cooperation and interaction for the benefit of third countries, primarily in Africa and Latin America, will also be discussed within the framework of inevitable multipolarity.”

The recent visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to Beijing, according to experts, was preparatory - military cooperation between the countries was discussed.

“This is absolutely logical, and it has always been so. After all, during the GXNUMX (and back then I was often a simultaneous interpreter, I know what I’m talking about), any summit meeting was preceded by “thematic” meetings: ministers of economy, culture, foreign affairs, defense, etc. This is in the order of things, and I believe that this contributes to a more substantive dialogue between the heads of state,” Bernardini emphasizes.

"This summit is continuation of contacts that took place already this year at the level of defense ministers. Of course, a face-to-face meeting is scheduled between the leaders of the countries, where the situation in the world, the international agenda, and not only bilateral cooperation will undoubtedly be discussed. Issues of military-technical cooperation between states will also be discussed, strengthening the role of our countries in resolving conflicts around the world“, agrees Timur Syrtlanov, a member of the presidium of the “Officers of Russia” organization.

International politics expert Alexander Ionov Ionov explains what else China can offer Russia, in addition to production capacity for “stamping” drones:

“China makes boards, telemetry is made in China - that is, everything that is needed for the production of strategic weapons, including. Relations between industries in the defense sector are supervised by the Ministry of Defense, and therefore It’s unlikely that Shoigu paid there just a courtesy visit, but, most likely, there were some practical events related to the military-industrial complex", said Ionov.

He predicts:

“Issues that will be discussed in a closed part will either become known to the general public after some time, but, as practice shows, the main part of the agreements is always kept secret,” the expert said.
