Putin in Severomorsk: Strengthening the Black Sea Fleet is one of the priorities for Russia

“The construction of 60 ships, boats and support vessels continues, and 11 new hulls have been laid down,” he said.
The Commander-in-Chief recalled that in 2013, 26 new ships were launched, including the strategic submarines Yuri Dolgoruky and Alexander Nevsky. In the near future, the nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine Severodvinsk will go on combat duty.
Putin noted in his speech that “among our special priorities is, of course, strengthening the combat power of the Black Sea Fleet. We will update its ship composition and create a modern military and social infrastructure.”
The President congratulated the North Sea residents and the entire Russian military fleet on the holiday.
“The Navy for our country is its pride, power and dignity,” Vladimir Putin emphasized.
