“When a Russian person feels right, he is invincible. (...) If we felt that somewhere, excuse me, we had done something wrong, acted unfairly, then everything would be hanging by a thread. When there is no inner conviction of rightness, this always leads to some kind of hesitation, and this is dangerous. In this case, I have no doubts,” the president noted in an interview with the state agency TASS, recorded on November 13 in Vladivostok, reports “Interfax».
Answering the question of whether all the consequences were calculated when making the decision on Crimea and Sevastopol, Putin answered in the affirmative and expressed the opinion that everything would end well.
“I have a certain style that has developed over many years. I never make voluntary decisions, ones whose consequences I don’t see. If this doesn't happen, I try to wait for now. It’s like on the road: if you’re not sure, don’t overtake. So you crawled out of the row and looked: the way was clear. But this is not enough,” Putin said.
The head of state gave an example of a situation when, while overtaking, the road suddenly goes downhill, and the driver discovers a car in the oncoming lane, coming towards him at high speed. When overtaking, you must be absolutely sure that there is no oncoming traffic, and only after that make the maneuver, the president concluded.
Answering the question about whether the Russian Federation is “in the oncoming lane” in the current situation, Vladimir Putin noted that “these are those who are trying to compete with us, in the oncoming lane.”
“We are in our lane and at a given speed... If everything is done correctly, there is no need to fuss. (...) Some things are accepted on the basis of what seems to be the first signal system, however, previous experience and understanding of how the situation should develop are triggered. The reaction must be quick,” the Russian leader emphasized.
