Putin: The West is hatching plans to dismember Russia
The United States created a threat to Russia's security by placing its missiles near its borders.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a large press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our actions will depend on the unconditional security of Russia. Today and for the historical perspective. In this regard, we have made it clear that NATO's further eastward expansion is unacceptable. What is unclear here? Are we putting missiles near the US borders? No, it was the United States with its missiles that came to our house. They are already on the threshold of our house. Is this some kind of excessive requirement - not to install any more shock systems near our house? What’s unusual here?” – Putin said.
He recalled that the United States annexed Mexican California and Texas in the 19th century, “but no one remembers Crimea.”
“What is important to us is not the progress of the negotiations, but the result. You must give us guarantees. And immediately. Now, and not talk about it for decades and do what we planned under soft words,” Putin said.
He believes that the US strategic goal since the time of President Woodrow Wilson has been the dismemberment of Russia. This is precisely what explains that the West “deceived and brazenly deceived” Russia on the issue of NATO expansion to the east.
“In 1991, we divided ourselves into 12 parts, but it seems that this is not enough for our partners. Russia is too big today, in their opinion. It seems to me that this is the only way to explain such constant pressure,” Putin said.
