Putin said that the Ukrainian authorities are abandoning Donbass
Ukraine, entering a new election cycle, is deliberately aggravating the situation in Donbass.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this today during the “Direct Line”, answering a question from writer Zakhar Prilepin.
“The current Ukrainian authorities are not solving the problem of Donbass because they do not need voters from these territories. It is clear that they will never vote for the current government. If the authorities are guided by their narrowly selfish political and economic interests, continue to rob their people and save money for a rainy day in offshore areas, this will not lead to anything good,” Putin said.
According to him, the OSCE monitoring mission has recorded an increase in the number of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in recent days.
“Why do this? We just need to follow the path of implementing the Minsk agreements. This is absurd from the point of view of the final result - the restoration of the territorial integrity of the country. The longer this happens, the worse it is for Ukraine. We will make every effort to ensure that the situation is resolved within the framework of the Minsk agreements,” the Russian President emphasized.
