Putin to Zelensky: War is not KVN
The new President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, does not demonstrate political will to establish peace in Donbass.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this today during the Direct Line, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Talented man. I remember his performances at KVN in Moscow. It was talented and funny. But what we have seen now is not funny. This is not a comedy, but a tragedy. If he became the head of state, he must solve these problems,” Putin said.
He recalled that Zelensky made a peaceful settlement in Donbass the core of his election campaign.
“And now, being in Paris, he said that he was not going to talk “with the separatists,” that is, with representatives of the unrecognized republics. How then to solve this problem? There is not a single example in modern history when conflicts of this kind were resolved without direct dialogue between the conflicting parties. This is impossible.
Shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has increased. During the election campaign it was said that they would stop, that the blockade would end. This is a direct violation of the Minsk agreements, which indicate that it is necessary to restore economic ties between the LDPR and Ukraine. Nothing is being done,” Putin said.
