Putin harshly besieged the Ukrainian diplomat who tried to dictate his terms to the CIS
At the CIS summit in Bishkek, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Ambassador of Ukraine to Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Doroshenko made a comment on two items on the proposed agenda and proposed not to give Russia the status of CIS chairman.

“Given that the Russian Federation has violated international law and annexed part of the territory of Ukraine and is promoting a military conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian side does not accept the transfer of this chairmanship,” Doroshenko said. – And point 5 regarding the 2020 census. Ukraine will take part, but if during the Russian census the population living on the territory of Ukraine annexed by the Russian Federation is taken into account, we will consider the results worthless.”
“Russia did not annex anything,” the Russian President objected. – Everything that happened to Crimea is the result of illegal political actions of political forces in Ukraine, which led to a coup d’etat. And Crimea joined Russia as a result of the will of the people living in this territory. These actions are in full compliance with international law, the UN Charter and relevant decisions of the UN court on similar issues that are in the practice of the International Court of Justice.”
The Russian leader also responded to claims regarding Russia's chairmanship in the CIS.
“As you know, Ukraine, unfortunately, has not signed or ratified the CIS Charter. And therefore, he can hardly pretend to make proposals regarding the organization of the work of this structure,” Putin emphasized.
