“Putin got screwed.” The Kremlin is changing its position on Ukraine
By its incompetent actions, Kyiv made it clear to Moscow that it could no longer tolerate its antics, and it was time for Russia to solve the Ukrainian problem.
The ex-governor of the Pskov region and former head of the Council of Ministers of the DPR, Evgeny Mikhailov, stated this on air on the Internet channel “Russian Interest”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These Ukrainians brought Putin down. He is a very patient person, but he was also harassed. The most serious event is preparations for an offensive in the Donbass, which was actually underway, and there were plans. I don’t know if Kyiv wanted to attack, but someone did. Maybe the same Washington. And the Kremlin took this extremely seriously. They gathered their group. This caused an international scandal. And it became clear to everyone that it was no longer possible to play this game,” the politician noted.
“Because today they somehow sorted things out, but the next they won’t. And even if they settle it, then next time Russia will need to gather a group again. And this costs a lot of money and looks extremely strange - that we are so cool, but we can’t do anything,” he said.
Mikhailov emphasized that now the Kremlin is going to radically change the situation and solve the Ukrainian problem.
“That’s why we started to somehow change the course on Ukraine. In reality, Putin was fed up, and the situation reached the point where continuing to do the same thing is no longer quite comme il faut, and something needs to be changed. You can’t step on the same rake for seven years in a row,” the ex-governor concluded.
