Dutch Sovietologist, Secretary General of the international organization Global Initiative in Psychiatry Robert van Voren writes about this in an author’s column on the pages of the Kiev magazine “New Time,” noting that “Putin’s policies have become very popular beyond the borders of Russia.”
“Time will tell to what extent the Russian intelligence services prepared the ground for this in those years while the West slept peacefully, but the fact is that Moscow suddenly has many friends among the extremist parties of Western Europe - mainly right-wing and Eurosceptic,” the author argues. .
“The victories in the referendums in the Netherlands and the UK were won due to lies and citizens’ fear of a rapidly changing world. In many countries, nationalism is now firmly on its feet, and the shadow of fascism has returned to the European continent,” the psychiatrist assures readers.
He also fears the victory of Donald Trump in the US elections, who, according to a Dutch expert, will become not just a friend, but also a colleague of Vladimir Putin.
“Most people still believe that Trump will not become president, but this is more like an attempt to bury his head in the sand,” van Voren panicked. – In March 2014, we also could not believe that Russians and Ukrainians would shoot at each other. It's time to accept the fact that Putinism has gone viral and is becoming a global phenomenon. A scary thought, but very realistic. Most likely, future generations will be told that 2016 forever changed the political landscape of the world.”
