“Putin is not interested in Donbass - we are talking about the whole of Ukraine” - Klimkin
Donbass is just a bargaining chip in the insidious imperial plans of Russian President Vladimir Putin to control all of Ukraine.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Moscow, the creation of an Advisory Council would mean the opportunity to present the process as a direct dialogue with the occupation administrations, and, accordingly, to say that there is an internal civil conflict in Ukraine and this is not Russian military aggression. That is, it would completely change the entire understanding of what is happening. Since events did not follow the Russian scenario, therefore, we are where we are.
We can only get out of this pause with the help of our partners, because today the bilateral context, as it seems to me and many politicians and experts agree with me, is not really working. Since it is really unprofitable for Russia to advance further, and control over Donbass is both direct and mediocre, this is the Kremlin’s guarantee of control over Ukraine.
The negotiations are not about Donbass, we all understand this very well. For the Kremlin, negotiations are about control over Ukraine and Russia's imperial status. These are the key questions. Putin is not interested in Donbass at all. This is a bargaining chip, if you like,” says Klimkin
