Putin was shown the project of the capital Sevastopol
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets and Sevastopol Governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov presented Russian President Vladimir Putin with a project to create a new cultural space in the hero city, including a museum and cinema-concert complex, an Opera and Ballet Theater, a high school of arts and a choreographic academy.
The official website of the government of Sevastopol reports this.
“The territory of Crimea and Sevastopol is completely special for Russian land and Russian culture. In terms of the number of outstanding people: writers, poets and artists who lived and worked here, only St. Petersburg and Moscow can be compared with them. Today we are talking about the fact that we must return the capital to the cultural space of Crimea and Sevastopol, organize it at a completely new level,” noted Olga Golodets.
Employees of the Hermitage, the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum have already been involved in the creation of the cultural center. It is assumed that the object will consist of two blocks. The first is a permanent exhibition of masterpieces of world art that are located in these museums. The second, at the request of Sevastopol residents, will be dedicated to the defense of the hero city.
“The Opera and Ballet Theatre, as well as all other objects, are already at the stage of preliminary geodetic surveys and project preparation. As part of the General Plan of Sevastopol, all of them will be linked into a single urban space - from the Kornilov embankment to Katernaya Street. This work is under the control of the president,” said Dmitry Ovsyannikov.
According to him, the implementation of such large-scale projects may take about 3-4 years. By the end of this year, the preparation of project documentation will be completed, and construction of these facilities may begin in the first half of 2019.
As PolitNavigator reported, Vladimir Putin visited Sevastopol at the opening of the Opera in Chersonesos festival.
