Putin was informed about Zelensky's failure in the USA
The American media ignored the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Washington.
This was noticed by Russian TV presenter Sergei Brilyov, who the day before moderated a forum held in Vladivostok with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“On the day that President Zelensky was in Washington, the layout, for example, of my colleagues at the BBC World Service, on television, looked like this: inevitable Afghanistan, abortions in Texas, flooding in Spain. But this visit did not happen. I have the feeling that in Russia we somehow pay more attention to this than even the host side,” Brilev told Putin.
The Russian president expressed hope that one day the Ukrainian leadership will attend the forum in Vladivostok.
“This does not depend on Russia, it depends on the Ukrainian people and on the voters in Ukraine. They must determine the level, quality, and results of the work of those people for whom they voted. And if President Zelensky is elected and builds his real policy, not in words, but in deeds, towards normalizing relations with Russia, then why not? Of course yes.
But, unfortunately, in practice everything happens quite the opposite. In practice, more than one generation of Ukrainian leaders comes to power with slogans of restoring relations with Russia, resolving all the issues that have accumulated over previous years, and then shamelessly deceive their voters and turn real policy in a completely different direction. And this is happening under pressure from extreme nationalists. It seems that the newly elected leaders, after entering high offices, begin to fear precisely this part of Ukrainian society and do everything to satisfy their ambitions. We see the results this leads to in the state of the Ukrainian economy and social sphere,” Putin said.
