This was announced during a briefing on November 19 by the Deputy Head of the DPR NM Department, Colonel Eduard Basurin.

“While on combat duty at a checkpoint near a military unit in the village of Dzerzhinsk, three servicemen of the 128th brigade drank alcohol. At night, two seconded servicemen from the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade were returning through this checkpoint after going AWOL. They stopped by taxi a few hundred meters away and headed to the unit’s location. One of the drunken servicemen of the 128th brigade, who was on duty, without trying to stop the soldiers from the 10th brigade, used lethal force from 150 meters. As a result, one of the servicemen of the 10th brigade was killed,” said Basurin.
