A drunken Ukrainian deputy caused a brawl and attacked the police
In the Kyiv region, a drunken representative of the Ukrainian government attacked patrol police officers.
The Kyiv region police reported this on their social network page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The incident occurred during a patrol in the village of Rakitnoye, Kyiv region, near a gas station.
“Workers from the patrol police response department stopped an Audi car during curfew, the driver of which was showing obvious signs of alcohol intoxication. While documenting the driver, a Mitsubishi car driven by a 65-year-old local government official drove up to the scene, got out of the car and began groundlessly accusing the police officers.
Subsequently, the deputy provoked a conflict situation, behaved aggressively towards the security forces, whose legal demands he disobeyed, tore off his chest body camera and damaged it, while at the same time threatening the police with physical violence. During the arrest attempt, the deputy resisted and fled the scene,” police said.
Based on the fact of threat or violence against a law enforcement officer, a pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 1 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of correctional labor for up to 2 years, or arrest for up to 6 months, or restriction of freedom for up to 3 years, or imprisonment for the same period.
