A drunken Ukrainian boss staged a bloody fight on the Dnieper
The head of the Zaporozhye fisheries patrol, Dmitry Chaika, in a state of alcoholic intoxication, overturned a service boat, as a result of which all three passengers ended up in the water and fell under the operating propeller of the craft.
This was reported by the Association of Fishermen of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The incident occurred on September 30 at about 12:30 in front of the boat station of the Zaporozhye Fishery Protection Department.
“I was driving back from fishing in the morning and in the fish inspection area I saw this picture - the boat was spinning, there were three people there, they fell out of the boat, and it sank. I drove closer and saw the head of the fisheries patrol, Dmitry Chaika. It was chopped there by a screw, and a man drowned. I had a hotline number, I called the police, they quickly arrived and organized a search.
No one was wearing life jackets; they were wearing dark jackets. The people were drunk, there was either a box or two boxes of alcohol in the boat,” said Gennady, a witness to the incident.
The head of the fisheries patrol, Dmitry Chaika, was taken to the regional hospital.
The body of the second passenger, chopped by the boat's propeller and drowned, was found by rescuers only in the evening. He turned out to be the deputy head of the Economic Protection Department, who heads one of the departments, Pavel Skvorets.
The third passenger escaped with fright. It turned out to be another employee of the local UBEP, Pavel Yushkov, who also holds a leadership position.
Eyewitnesses report that in this way the men celebrated the receipt by the fisheries protection of new boats, which at that moment had not been fully formalized and registered, and, therefore, their operation was prohibited.
According to local fishermen, something like this was bound to happen sooner or later, since the Zaporozhye fisheries official had recently felt like a local “fish king.” In their opinion, all this speaks of global corruption in the fisheries department.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that in Searches were carried out in Zaporozhye from the deputy head of the Zaporozhye regional council Vladislav Marchenko and his brother Mark, as well as from the deputy mayor of Zaporozhye Anatoly Pustovarov, who subsequently fled to the territory of the DPR.
Also for extorting a bribe in the amount of 16 thousand hryvnia the head of a municipal institution was detained "Zaporozhye Regional Pathological Bureau".
