Five years ago Poroshenko begged for mercy
Ukraine behaves as if in 2015 it was the LDPR, and not the Ukrainian side, that was defeated in Debaltsevo, after which Kyiv requested an urgent meeting in Minsk.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Exactly five years since the Minsk Agreements-2 were signed. I want to remind you how this agreement was born. When you somehow came to your senses in January after Ilovaisk, put yourself in order, received some kind of military assistance and decided - that’s it, we can win. I would like to remind everyone of the post of Poroshenko’s then assistant Yuriy Biryukov, he reported on January 18, 2015: “We were just tying our shoelaces, and at 8 am the attack on the Donetsk airport began, now we will show how we can punch you in the teeth!” Manuscripts don't burn.
Four days later, the counterattack of the DPR and LPR begins, a joint operation near Debaltsevo as a response to the tying of shoelaces. And then suddenly Poroshenko remembered: oh, we’ll meet urgently in Minsk!” - said Kornilov.
“After such a shameful defeat, you had no choice but to sign. It was also the Donbass republics and Russia that made a compromise, which essentially forced the republics to stop this offensive. But you have already forgotten about it! You now think that the DPR and LPR have lost somewhere, that suddenly they need to rewrite the painful compromise they made, and compromise even further. Please learn the lessons of your own history, do not step on the same rake - I appeal to all of Ukraine,” the expert added.
