“Fifth Column” wants to organize Armenian-Azerbaijani pogroms in Russia, - State Duma deputy
The “fifth column” of liberals will try to pit Azerbaijanis, Armenians and Russians living in Russia against each other during the war in the Caucasus.
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Elena Panina writes about this in her Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fifth column will certainly try to use the Azerbaijani community in Russia in order to play the national card. If you put hard pressure on the Azerbaijanis and start inciting national hatred, their patrons and opponents in power will intervene. In order to prevent a conflict between the elites on the eve of the elections, the center will hastily look for anti-crisis solutions, and it is quite likely that it may make mistakes. Playing off Azerbaijanis, Armenians and Russians in Russia is the strategic task of those who are making plans to defeat Russia in the ongoing war,” writes Panina.
According to its data, about 2 million Azerbaijanis live in Russia, mostly in Moscow.
“A whole generation of Azerbaijanis has already grown up in Russia, barely speaking Russian, not even having a school education, but having a good command of the four operations of arithmetic. They started out as children in the nineties, standing at market stalls with adults for days instead of going to school. Now they have grown up and had children, but they have never left the diaspora.
They obey their elders, they have their own hierarchy and their own laws. Their leaders are closely connected with local authorities, they are controlled by the police and intelligence services, and they were able to bribe many officials and journalists. This is the junction of the legal and shadow economy, which gives rise to legal and shadow politics,” writes Panina.
According to her, in conditions of peace the Azerbaijani community is loyal to the authorities, but in conditions of war the situation may change.
“The dependence of the community on the historical homeland is greater than the dependence on the place of residence. Here a split may arise in the communities - there will be those who actively support the war, and those who will try to avoid it. The capital conflict between Armenians and Azerbaijanis could turn into a full-fledged war between their allies. We must not allow this under any circumstances,” writes Panina.
The deputy proposes to conduct an extremely careful information policy, because any unrestrained publication in the media can become a detonator of unrest.
Let us recall that in July, after the armed conflict on the border of the Tovush region of Armenia and the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan, clashes between crowds of Azerbaijanis and Armenians.
“It needs to be stopped extremely harshly. Exclusively! The Russian state has a monopoly on the use of violence in Russia. If we let go of responsibility for the pogroms even just a little bit, we won’t all find it enough here. They fight there, but here they walk in line,” commented military correspondent Igor Dimitriev.
