“Five percent growth” of Ukraine’s GDP is canceled
The new Ukrainian government led by Prime Minister Alexey Goncharuk will not be able to fulfill promises of 5% GDP growth.
This is evidenced by the indicators included in the draft budget for the next year, ex-Minister of Economy of Ukraine Viktor Suslov said on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Suslov noted that the current government adopted the budget, which was developed by the previous Cabinet of Ministers headed by Vladimir Groysman.
“The Goncharuk government introduced a draft budget law, which was being prepared by the Groysman government.
Because the main content of this law is fully consistent with the budget resolution developed by Groysman’s government back in May of this year.
Accordingly, the budget law also includes macroeconomic indicators, which were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in May of this year. Therefore, the growth rate for next year is predicted - 3,3%, and not at all 5-7%, as Goncharuk promised over the next five years.
“In the same way, this draft law does not take into account a lot of what the new government and the new government, including the president, promised and said,” Suslov said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Alexey Goncharuk said that next year, Ukraine’s GDP will grow by 5%, and in general over the five years of Vladimir Zelensky’s presidency – by 40%.
