Tried to infiltrate Crimea: Another militant asker caught by the FSB
While trying to enter Crimea from the Kherson region, a resident of Kherson born in 1987 was detained. The FSB established that in December 2015 he voluntarily joined the illegal armed formation “Battalion named after Noman Celebidzhikhan”, in which he participated in the armed guard of the battalion, checked persons and vehicles, and was also engaged in economic activities.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee by the FSB on charges of participation in the activities of an illegal armed group operating on the territory of a foreign state for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation (Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The Kyiv District Court of the Republic of Crimea chose a preventive measure for the detainee in the form of detention for a period of two months.
The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment.
