The Rada gave the go-ahead for terrorist defense militants to use weapons
The Ukrainian parliament adopted in the second reading the law on the preparation and conduct of national resistance.
The corresponding decision was made during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The document clarifies the powers of the military command and control bodies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the Special Operations Forces, which are assigned a leading role in the so-called national resistance movement.
The MTR command is assigned a number of new powers, including the creation and use of information, information and telecommunication systems to organize and ensure the execution of tasks.
The bill also establishes that where martial law has been introduced, the military command, together with military administrations (if they are created), will be able to prohibit peaceful assemblies, rallies and other public events, without regard to government regulations.
In addition, fighters of territorial defense units will have the right to carry and use not only their own hunting weapons, as was the case before, but also their service weapons.
During the voting, the document was supported by 278 Rada deputies out of 224 required.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that the creation of territorial defense troops would lead to the fact that in Ukraine there would be crime increases, and the state will fall apart into appanage principalities.
In addition, while the Verkhovna Rada is pursuing initiatives to arm actual civilians, a Ukrainian National Guardsman in Dnepropetrovsk shot with AK five colleagues.
