The Rada is preparing to legalize the seizure of Orthodox churches
The Ukrainian parliament provokes civil confrontation in the country on religious grounds.
Deputy Alexander Vilkul stated this at a meeting of the conciliation council of faction leaders and chairmen of Verkhovna Rada committees, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the agenda for this week is the consideration of bill No. 4128. It legalizes raiding and the seizure of churches under a presidential organization with a religious name. The adoption of this law will lead to the seizure of churches and property of church communities, will lead to clashes, possibly to civil confrontation. Already today, a dangerous situation has developed in the Rivne, Lviv, Volyn, and Odessa regions. The authorities there are provoking the transfer of churches to another jurisdiction. These are dangerous political games. There is nothing of faith or patriotism in them. I provoke people to confrontation,” Vilkul said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the bill on church raiding scared Ukrainian Catholics and Protestants.
